Stephen and Mercy were members of the Six-Principle Baptist Church at North Kingstown, Rhode Island.

- There is a photo on page 20 of Thomas Congdon Peirce (1829-1926) was represented North Kingstown in the General Assembly. The photo was taken in 1889. He was the brother of John B. Peirce. They sailed to the California gold rush in 1849 but Thomas C. returned in 1851. He built a resort called the Cold Spring House. (not sure of relationship to Stephen Congdon).

- Tim Fredrick visited the Mansfield, CT cemetery in 2008 but didn't find a grave for Mercy or Stephen Congdon.

- There is a "Congdon Road" in Allenton, Rhode Island.
