Additional Information

Henry SPENCER:

Notes:
In "("Vital Records" Violet E. Kettelle Genealogical Collection, Box 5, Folder 15)" Violet Kettelle gives us the lineage of John, William, Henry, and William in an entry on page 46 ("Marriages to 1850 North Kingstown"):

7-10-1806 Henry(5) of Wm(4), Henry(3) (Wm(2), John(1)) and Mercy Allen --- and Ann Brown of Wm. & Anne.
-------1801 Elizabeth(5) of Wm(4), Henry(3), Wm(2), and John(1) and Benj. Weight of Ben and Sarah

Although a secondary source, Violet Kettelle is a fairly trustworthy source in my opinion -- and this lineage corroberates the lineage that has been given to me through family records.

Anne BROWN:

Notes:
In "Gardner History and Genealogy" By Lillian May Stickney Gardner, Charles Morris Gardner, p. 127:

"Benjamin C. Gardner, son of Nicholas, Esq., and Deborah (Vincent) Gardner, was born April 27, 1779; died Aug. 28, 1859; married Mehitable Spencer, daughter of Ann Spencer of North Kingstown, R. I., Aug. 21, 1803, by William Northup, Eld."

(06) Mercy SPENCER:

Notes:
In the Huling Genealogy by Esther Littleford Woodworth-Barnes, she lists Mary and Mercy as twins. I think it's possible these are in fact the same person.

According to "("Michael Spencer, B. 2" Violet E. Kettelle Genealogical Collection, Box 5, Folder 4)", there is a Clapp-Greene Cemetery in Warwick in which there is a Miss Mercy Spencedr (b. 1806), died Oct 17, 1845 in her 35th year. Violet Kettelle writes "Who was she?". Next to her is Amy, daughter of John Greene, d. 10-10-1748, 29th year.

Violet E Kettelle Collection, 'Misc. Smith Diary, Spencer a/c book, etc.. Box 10, Folder 25. Rhode Island Historical Society Collections. (notebook transcription of records)'
- It is possible that Mercy Spencer died 2-7-1809 according to the Smith Diary
