Notes:
This is my great Grandfather.

According to my Great Uncle Bill he moved around a lot and never could quite provide for
his family.

My Grandmother, Laura Marie Fredrick (Spencer) had little good to say about him.

1900 Census for Pepin County, Wisconsin shows him as a boarder living with the Melrose Family in Albany, Wisconsin.

I found the 1920 Census record that shows their living in Rangeland, Texas. I seem to remember
my Grandmother describing that time as living in poverty. She was 10 years old at the time,
and Allen had moved his family there in search of work. His Father's place of birth is listed
as Iowa (that would be William Malrose Spencer -- not my great Uncle with the same name, but
his grandfather).

His occupation is listed as carpenter

In the 1930 census, he is listed as living in Superior, WI with my Grandmother Laura
Spencer. But Anna Louise Schumacher (his wife, my great grandmother) is listed as
living in Holyoke with the 2 boys and Ruth. At that time he is listed as a Carpenter for
the "Ry Road" -- Railroad?

-----------------------------------

It turns out that my Grandmother and her siblings had a half-brother -- Norman Spencer, They
weren't aware of Allen Luther's first marriage until much later. I found a marriage record on the
web page for the Wisconsin Historical Society, showing the marriage to Edna Stanton on
27-September-1903.

Notes:
From Great Uncle Bill:

After WW2 she moved with my grandmother (Laura Spencer Fredrick) to Wendal Idaho. My Great Uncle Bill went from there to California, but she and my grandmother remained behind. Later they moved to Casper, Wyoming. Ruth had also moved to Casper.

From the Bismark Daily Tribune, January 22, 1912: "On Tuesday, January 16, at Enderlin,
Rev. H. Elster officiated at the marriage of Miss Annie Schumacher to Mr. Allen Spencer of
International Falls, Minn. The bride is the eldest daughter of Carl Schumacher, a farmer
residing near Lisbon. The newly wedded couple will live at International Falls."

According to Great Great Aunt Bertha, Anna suffered from Rheumatic Fever. Later she suffered severe arthritis eventually confining her to wheelchair. She also had a bout of scarlet fever.
