Medical Notes:
My Grandmother was in generally good health but suffered severe macular degeneration which robbed her of good eyesight in her last decade.

Notes:
Laura Marie Spencer (married name Spencer) is my Grandmother whom I knew well -- in fact I spoke at her funeral in 2002.

She and Fritz divorced when my Uncle was young -- approximately 1945. She had moved around quite a bit, having lived in Minnesota in various places, Arkansas, North Dakota, Texas, Washington State (during WWII and then later residing in Newport in the early 1990's), Oregon (where she lived in Portland in the mid to late 1990's and then Hillsboro where she was residing at the end of her life). She lived in Casper during my Dad and Uncle's childhood having moved there with her Mom I think right after WWII.

Her occupations were primary that of a single Mom -- earning money wherever possible. She worked for Superior Oil Company for a long time as a secretary; and also worked at Natrona County Hospital, a clothing store and a variety of other places. During my teenage years, she worked as a real estate agent in Casper, WY and had a license from the state.

She loved to read, and our love of dogs may have come from my Grandmother as well. In fact she ran a dog grooming business for a while; and I think met her second husband (only married briefly) through that endeavor in Casper.

Some of my notes on family history come from my Grandmother through a geneaology that my brother wrote down in the late 1970's.

My Grandmother's obituary was published in Portland's paper, "The Oregonian", 2002-05-19.
