Christian and Rosine BörgerUpdated: 25-September-2005 Born in July of 1811, Christian Börger was the father of Justine Börger-Fredrich, making him my great-great-great Grandfather on the Börger side. He lived in the small village of Debenke, in the Kreis Wirsitz County of the Posen Province of what was then Prussia (Germany). The town today is called Debionek. In the marriage record for Friedrich Fredrick, we see Christian's name listed. It took me the longest time to figure out the other name, but it is "Rosine Prill". Rosine, then, would have been my great-great-great Grandmother. Later, in marriage records from the town of Lobsens (which covered Debenke), I found a Marriage record (27-Dec-1838 in Debenke) for Christian and Rosine, establishing the month of birth for each. I can assume from that, that Christian and Rosine raised their family in Debenke, and that their daughter Justine would also have been born in Debenke. Unfortunately 1811 seems to be a difficult time period from which to find birth records for this region. LDS Film 245513 seems to go to about 1805, and subsequent films start up again in the 1840's. If anyone has any suggestions as to which microfilms I might look at, I'd be grateful to know. In general, I found numerous "Börger" references for Debenke, and a few for the Prill family as well. Most of these are found in the vital records from Lobsens, Kr. Wirsitz, Posen, Prussia. It is interesting to note that on the marriage record, Rosine Prill was married on the same day as (presumably) her sister, Anna. Anna Prill was married to Johann Lange -- the Lange family is also a prominent family in Debenke. Other Börger References
